Collegiate football returns to Columbia, Ky., at 1:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at Blue Raider Stadium.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College and Notre Dame (Ohio) College football teams are both in their first season of varsity football and both are looking for their program's first win on Saturday at Blue Raider Stadium.

While Lindsey Wilson will be in its first game in 75 years, the Falcons got their first shot at a win last Saturday at home against Mercyhurst (Pa.) College.

After playing a junior-varsity schedule in 2009 -- Notre Dame went undefeated, winning by a large margin in most games -- the Falcons struggled in the school's first varsity game with just 127 yards of total offense in a 23-0 loss to the Lakers.

LONDON, Ky. -- The only competition Kelsey Joslyn had on the Crooked Creek Golf Course in the Bill Sergent Invitational was her own teammates, which is a good sign for the Lindsey Wilson College women's golf team as it rolled to a win, beating out its nearest competitor by 28 strokes.

In the event hosted by the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.), Joslyn proved too hot to catch for any player on the course. The sophomore turned in a 72 on Thursday and a 78 on Friday for an event-low 150 total strokes.

LONDON, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's golf team improved by 20 strokes on day two of the Bill Sargent Invitational hosted by University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) at the Crooked Creek Golf Club to shoot a 286 and finish second after leaving the clubhouse in seventh place on Thursday night.

Lindsey Wilson turned in 306 strokes on Thursday, putting them far off the lead, before Nicolas Navarro energized the team with a 69 on Friday to help give the Blue Raider their big push.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Lindsey Wilson College volleyball team ended day one of its trip to Music City on a sour note Friday, losing to Milligan (Tenn.) College 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-18) and Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University 3-1 (21-25, 25-16, 28-26, 25-18) at the Scott Jones Classic hosted by Trevecca at Mark R. Moore Gymnasium.

Despite falling to 1-6 overall, the Blue Raiders put up a fight in both matches, losing by no more than nine points in a set.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The wait is nearly over. The last drop of cement has been poured, bleachers received their last bolts and the concession stands are stocked. All these things mean it's time to return football to Lindsey Wilson College.
