Carnell Learmond earns is first-ever MSC Player of the Week honor for his play last week.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College senior forward Carnell Learmond has been selected the Mid-South Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

Learmond scored a career-high four goals in the only Blue Raider game of the week to earn the weekly award. The Clarendon, Jamaica, native, scored four straight goals as Lindsey Wilson defeated host Pikeville College 6-0.

HAZARD, Ky. -- Senior Carnell Learmond scored four goals as the Lindsey Wilson College men's soccer team beat host Pikeville College 6-0 on Saturday.

The top-ranked Blue Raiders improve to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in the Mid-South Conference. Pikeville falls to 0-1 on the season.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College -- the top-ranked team in the NAIA -- is the preseason men's soccer favorite according to the Mid-South Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.

The defending national-champion Blue Raiders received 64 voting points and eight first-place votes after also claiming the MSC Regular Season and Tournament Championships in 2009. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- A deep cross from the left side of the box by Michael Azira found Lwandiso Gonya for a header goal in the 17th minute that was all the top ranked Lindsey Wilson College men's soccer team needed to knock off Saint Xavier (Ill.) University 1-0 on Saturday at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.

While winning by just one goal, the Blue Raiders dominated the Cougars in all other areas of the season opener. Lindsey Wilson outshot Saint Xavier 11-3 and held a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The top-ranked and defending national champion Lindsey Wilson College men's soccer team opens its 2010 campaign against Saint Xavier (Ill.) University at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday, Aug. 21 at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.

The Blue Raiders hold an 8-1-0 series advantage against the Cougars, including a 3-0 win last season on Aug. 22.
