COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College sophomore Derek Cape is the Mid-South Conference Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Cape helped the Blue Raiders win five straight games last week, finishing 1-0 on the mound with a no-hitter against Davenport (Mich.) University on Sunday to secure a 5-0 win.
COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Derek Cape was nearly perfect, pitching a no hitter with just one walk and six strikeouts to lead the Lindsey Wilson College baseball team to a 5-0 win against Davenport (Mich.) University on Sunday at Lindsey Wilson Park. The Blue Raiders won the first game of the doubleheader as well 6-5.
Second baseman Heath Barnes went 3-for-4 in game one scoring a run, while shortstop Drew Barrett went 2-for-4 from the plate with two RBI. Third baseman Max Rhodes led the Blue Raiders in game two, batting 3-for-4 for a double and an RBI. Barrett also stayed hot in game two, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored.
COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College baseball team racked up 20 hits for 15 runs as it swept Alice Lloyd (Ky.) College in a doubleheader on Saturday at Lindsey Wilson Park. The Blue Raiders won game one 11-1 in sixth innings and shutout the Eagles in game two 4-0.
First baseman Zach Prichard led the way in game one, going 3-for-3 at the plate with four runs scored, while designated hitter Craig Mosier also went 3-for-3, adding a run and three RBI.
COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Trailing 4-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning with two runners on base, Zach Prichard drilled a home run to give the Lindsey Wilson College baseball team a 5-4 lead that Luis Parra was able to save for the win against Union (Ky.) College on Wednesday at Lindsey Wilson Park.
Prichard, the first baseman, went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored, while Heath Barnes, Drew Barrett, Max Rhodes and Jeff Murphy all went 2-for-4 at the plate as well. Right fielder Jeremy Toohey and Rhodes each added an RBI.
COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Iowa Wesleyan College's Nelcicio York's game-winning single in the top of the 10th inning propelled the Tigers to a 2-1 win over the host Lindsey Wilson College baseball team today at Lindsey Wilson Park.
With the win, Iowa Wesleyan (3-2) takes two out of three from the Blue Raiders (2-4) over the weekend.
